I started using drugs at the age of 
seventeen, trying to find an escape from reality. As the years progressed my drug use escaladed from smoking pot, to intravenously using methamphetamines and heroine. My drug habits brought me to a place of hopelessness and despair, which I thought I could never escape from. Being that I was in such a place of hopelessness, I tried to kill myself by injecting coleman camping fuel into my veins. Needless to say, I couldn?t even do that right. Because of the lifestyle I lived I found myself sitting in a jail cell, facing seven years in prison. I thought to myself, how did my life end up like this. It was at that time I found myself calling out to this Jesus I had heard of all my life. I asked Jesus, that if he was real to prove it to me and I would serve Him the rest of my life. By the Grace of God the Judge agreed to suspend my sentence and allowed me to go into Teen Challenge. I have since been set free and on fire for the Lord and his people. Jesus Christ used Teen Challenge to tear the drug addiction from my life and fill with joy and peace where I once had only pain and sorrow. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, ?Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, lean not unto thy own understanding, acknowledge Him in all thy ways and He shall direct thy path.? This verse reminds me of Gods grace and mercy. Currently I work as a staff member at the Phoenix Teen Challenge were God uses me to bring hope to others that there is new life in Christ.

I was a hopeless drug addict who loved violence and the fast paced life of selling drugs. I have seen death right in front of me, and have all most died eleven different times with drug overdoses. My body is paying the price for my drug abuse. My family was destroyed; my outlook on life was sad. Everything I touched was consumed with death. Now that I have given my life to the Lord, things are so much different, and things are looking up. I can help people who are going through the same struggles and my family has been restored. God is real and He will help you if you call upon Him.

I came to Teen challenge after I had spent many years searching for life outside of Jesus. I have been blessed to have great parents who did there best to give me the best growing up. If you knew me you wouldn?t have thought I was as troubled as I was. During high school I started hanging around the most popular people I could which in turn led me in to a life of drugs.
First I started using marijuana and drinking a little. Later on around 18 years old I started looking for the perfect high. Eventually I started using cocaine, crystal meth (speed) and sometimes a little acid (LSD). Around the age of 20 I was so lost in drugs, mostly speed at the time. I felt like my brain was all messed up. I found myself on my knees one-day praying that God would help me. I don?t even think it was a couple of hours before I was picked up by a sheriff and taken to jail for violating my terms of probation.
I was in jail for 90 days, and my probation officer gave me a choice between Teen Challenge (A 13 to 15 MONTH PROGRAM) and another program that was 30 days long, so I choose Teen Challenge. I knew I really needed help, so I came to Teen Challenge on my 21st birthday. When I walked in I felt so much love, God just began melting my hard heart away and gave me a new heart. God just continues to reveal his purpose and plan for my life, Plans for hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). God causes all things to work for his glory, and that he has called us to be like Jesus (Romans 8:28-29. Now I am working here at Teen Challenge as a full time staff for about 3 years.
